A conversion of two flats in a Victorian-era terrace into a family home in London. The ground floor was opened up with a series of moves that cater to contemporary family living. The typical narrow entrance corridor was reconfigured to make an entry porch and a separate mud-room for storing bikes and prams. The utility room and dividing walls at the back were removed to make one generous kitchen, dining and living space. A desk was placed along the existing shop-front windows to accomodate the client's graphic-design business. Finally, a large rooflight, glass floor and big sliding doors were introduced to bring in some much-needed light.
