ATTAYAC

The development opportunity on this tiny 1650sf parcel of land was limited to a remodel of the existing 500sf dilapidated structure, as Austin's zoning codes permit new building only on lots greater than 2500sf. The resulting project was an exercise in efficiency.  Two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette were squeezed into the footprint, while a vaulted ceiling and strategically placed openings maximized a sense of spaciousness and light. The exterior roofs and walls were clad in a highly reflective charcoal stainless steel tile that gives the house a chameleon-like quality, changing with the light throughout the day.
