A shortlisted competition entry for public art for Denver's 14th St Corridor revitalization project. PEEKS are a series of reflective elements that populate areas of the existing streetscape and create new, unexpected perspectives of the urban environment. Growing in cracks and aggregating in flowerbeds, they break down the alienating cityscape to a human scale. You can check your appearance, spy on the person behind you, use them as a meeting place, look down at clouds and up at the sidewalk. The elements also have a cartoonish personality of their own. We loved imagining them 'peeking' out of mounds of snow in the winter months.
